Fannin County Commissioners take action to get $174,000 road grant


BONHAM — The Fannin County Commissioners Court held a public hearing at 8:30 a.m. Monday, to discuss the creation of a County Energy Transportation Zone.

“The Texas legislature appropriated $225 million for county transportation project grants,” the Commissioners Court said in a written release. “Our county grant allocation from the Texas Department of Transportation is $174,000. One of the grant requirements is that the county create a County Energy Transportation Reinvestment Zone.”

The Court voted to create a CERTZ. The law states that the court must wait 30 days before the CERTZ is created.

After the public hearing, the court held their regular meeting in which it approved additions to the Fannin County Purchasing Manual that was approved by the Purchasing Board on Dec. 19.

Fannin County Purchasing Agent Jill Edwards-Holmes asked the Court to allow the Purchasing Office to conduct training for purchasing and asset inventory control. Training would be held 11 a.m. March 10 and 1:30 p.m. April 22 in the District Courtroom. The Court approved the training.

The Court approved an agreement with Corrections Software Solutions, LP for pretrial bond supervision software package. Lastly, the Court approved a budget amendment from the contingency fund to the bond supervision computer software fund.
