Fannin and Collin counties are currently under a flash flood watch which will remain in effect until Friday afternoon. All residents are urged to keep a close eye on local weather reports and exercise extreme caution, particularly while driving.
The flash flood watch for Grayson, Cooke and Denton counties in effect earlier today has been lifted. The NWS still forecasts heavy rainfall across this area, however. Isolated severe storms are also possible.
The NWS forecasts rain continuing today and tomorrow morning.
Flash floods happen quickly, often with little warning. The NWS suggests staying away from rivers, streams, and low-lying areas. Do not attempt to cross water if you are not sure how deep it is, and be extra cautious at night, when flooded roadways are harder to recognize.
