Two arrested for leading pursuit in stolen car

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers arrested two people Thursday morning after leading law enforcement on a chase through Grayson and Collin Counties in a stolen car.

A DPS Trooper began pursuing a car, which police say was stolen, sometime before 8 a.m. just south of Van Alstyne, said Trooper David Taylor. Exactly why and what time the pursuit began is currently unclear.

The Trooper followed the stolen car into Collin County. The car then made its way through back roads into Gunter, where Gunter Police joined in the pursuit. At some point the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office chased the suspect car as well, Taylor said.

The car entered Sherman and Sherman Police became involved in the pursuit. The chase ended when the car crashed on King Street. There were no injuries and no property damage. Troopers arrested both occupants of the car at 8:36 a.m. and took them to the Grayson County Jail.
