Man damages security camera inside Bonham PD jail; other reports


Bonham Police

Criminal mischief — On Sunday, Bonham PD dispatch told officers she was unable to monitor the jail cell because damage had been done to the camera, according to police reports. Officers watched the surveillance footage and observed a man who was in the jail cell reach his hands through the cell and damage the camera. Criminal mischief was added to the suspect’s charges.

Found property — On Aug. 27, a resident brought a wallet to the Bonham PD that they had found in he 400 block of S. 3rd Street.

Driving while intoxicated — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 28 in the 1500 block of W. Sam Rayburn Drive. The officer arrested the driver for driving while license invalid, driving while intoxicated, third offense, and possession of marijuana, less than two ounces.

Violate protective order — Friday, officers saw a man enter a house in the 700 block of Start Street that had a protective order on him. The officers arrested the man for violate protective order.

Public intoxication — A resident called police on Friday to report that an intoxicated man was outside his house in the 100 block of Jamy Street. Police arrested the man for public intoxication and a parole violation warrant.

Found property — A resident turned in a bicycle to police Saturday that they had found in the 500 block of W. 6th Street.

Theft — Saturday an officer responded to a theft at a store in the 2000 block of S.H. 121 North. The officer arrested two men for theft.

Public intoxication — Officers responded Saturday to a report of a man lying on the curb in the 500 block of Lipscomb Street. The officers arrested the man for public intoxication and consumption of alcoholic beverage in prohibited place.

Public intoxication — An officer responded Saturday to a theft of a flag in the 100 block of W. 6th Street. The officers found someone who matched the description given by the victim and arrested them for public intoxication. The officers recovered the flag and returned it to the owner, who did not wish to file theft charges.

Criminal mischief — An officer responded to a criminal mischief call Tuesday in the 2000 block of Pecan Street. A woman said that all four tires on her car were flat.

Possession of drug paraphernalia — Tuesday officers responded to a possible burglary in the 300 block of W. 6th Street. The officers made contact with a man who matched the description given of he burglary suspect. During the investigation, the officers found a pipe with methamphetamine residue in it. The officers arrested the man for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burglary — An officer responded to a burglary Tuesday in the 500 block of Bill Street. An unknown person removed several items from inside a car.

Sherman Police

Evading arrest — Friday an officer responded to a disturbance at a house in the 1200 block of S. Walnut Street. While en-route to the call, the officer saw the suspect car leaving the house. The officer turned around in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop on the car. The driver accelerated when he saw the patrol car, struck a house and fled the scene on foot. No one was injured in the crash and the suspect was not located. The suspect will be filed on at large.

Burglary — An officer responded to a report of a burglary Friday in the 500 block of S. Throckmorton Street. The victim said that an unknown person entered the car and stole several documents and electronics.

Assault — Police responded to a disturbance Friday in the 1100 block of S. Walnut Street. A woman said she had been assaulted by her husband while she attempted to call 911, and then fled the scene.

Theft — An officer responded to a theft Friday in the 800 block of S. East Street. An unknown person had stolen a city of Sherman sanitation truck from the location.

Interference with emergency call — An officer responded to a disconnected 911 call Friday in the 3000 block of Northridge Drive. A man had taken a phone away from his girlfriend while she was trying to make an emergency call. The man also gave police a false name when police questioned him. The officers arrested the man for interference with emergency call, failure to identify as a fugitive and a misdemeanor warrant.

Burglary — Saturday an officer responded to a theft at a store in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. A woman had stolen property and had also been given a criminal trespass warning for the store. The officer arrested the woman for burglary.

Driving while intoxicated — An officer responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver Saturday in the 2100 block of N. F.M. 1417. The person who called in the report said they had seen the suspect striking curbs while driving, and that the suspect exited the car at one point to vomit. The officer located the suspect and he agreed to perform sobriety tests. The suspect showed signs of intoxication during the tests, and admitted he was intoxicated. He also had a suspended license and previous convictions for driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid. The officer arrested the man for driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid.

Assault — Sunday an officer responded to a report of an assault in the 3600 block of S. Sam Rayburn Freeway. A woman said that she had been at a party, and during the early morning hours she had been assaulted by someone she knew. She then waited until she was sober to contact the police.
