Men steal $2,000 worth of cologne; other reports


Sherman Police

Organized retail theft — An officer went Monday to a grocery store in the 100 block of E. Taylor Street regarding a theft that occurred on Feb. 5, according to police reports. A store employee said that on Feb. 5, four men entered the store, disabled a theft alarm on the cologne/perfume display and took over $2,000 worth of cologne. The officer made a report for organized retail theft over $1,500.

Theft — Thursday an officer spoke to a man in the 700 block of S. Sam Rayburn Freeway regarding a theft. The man said someone stole roofing supplies he had left at a job site in the 1400 block of Monfort Drive. The officer made a report for theft.

Credit card abuse — A man went to the Sherman Police Department Thursday and reported that someone had used his credit card without his permission. Police made a report for credit card abuse elderly.

Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop Thursday in the 1000 block of S. Willow Street. The driver’s license had been suspended. During a search of the car, the officer found a half pound of marijuana. The officer arrested the driver for driving while license invalid and possession of marijuana.

Possession of marijuana — Officers conducted a traffic stop Thursday in the 2700 block of N. U.S. Highway 75. The driver had a suspended license, and the officers found marijuana inside the car. The officers arrested the driver and took him to the Grayson County Jail.

Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop Thursday in the 2400 block of Texoma Parkway. The driver had a suspended license and he did not have insurance. The officer arrested the driver and his car was towed.

Possession of drug paraphernalia — Saturday police went to the 600 block of E. King Street to respond to a disturbance. Police arrested a man involved in the disturbance and found that he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was taken to the Grayson County Jail.

Information Files Only — Police responded Saturday to an abandoned car in the 1300 block of Sam Rayburn Freeway. The car had not been reported stolen. Police made an information report.

Assault — An officer spoke with a man Saturday in the 1700 block of S. Heritage Parkway regarding an assault. The man said that two male suspects were using his dumpster, and the man asked them not to use the dumpster. The suspects then cursed at him and punched him. The officer made a report for assault causes bodily injury.

Theft — Police received a report of a theft Saturday that occurred at a business in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. The caller said that last month a store employee stole a deposit of $500.

Duty on striking unattended vehicle — Police responded Saturday to a hit and run accident at a business in the 500 block of S. Walnut Street. A white work van had struck a passenger car while the car was parked, then fled the scene. Police made an accident report and a second report for duty on striking an unattended vehicle.

Theft — An officer responded Saturday to a theft in the 3000 block of Loy Lake Road. Three suspects stole an unknown amount of money from video gaming machines. The officer made a report for theft.

Death investigation — Officers responded Saturday to the 900 block of N. Woods Street to check on the welfare of a 93-year-old woman. When officers arrived they found that the woman was deceased and appeared to have died naturally. Officers made a report for death investigation.

Driving while license invalid — Police made a traffic stop Saturday in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. The driver had a suspended license and no insurance. Police arrested the driver and took him to the Grayson County Jail.

Purchase furnish alcohol to a minor — Police received a phone call Sunday reporting a missing child from a house in the 300 block of Archer Drive. Individuals at the house told police that the child was intoxicated and left after getting into a verbal argument. Witnesses on scene stated the child had consumed alcoholic beverages at the residence. Officers made a report for purchasing or furnishing alcohol to minor.

Criminal mischief — An officer responded to a disturbance Sunday at a house in the 100 block of S. Bryant Avenue. A woman had gone to the house and damaged another woman’s property. The officer made a report for criminal mischief.

Forgery financial instrument — An officer went Sunday to the 800 block of S. Burdette Avenue regarding a forgery. The victim said she found a check that had been cashed on her account that she did not authorize. The officer made a report for forgery of a financial instrument.

Burglary — Police responded Sunday to the 500 block of S. Walnut Street regarding a car burglary. Two passengers had exited the car, but left their wallet and purse inside. They returned moments later and found that their property was gone. Police made an offense report.

Theft — An officer responded to a theft Sunday at a store in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. Employees said that a man selected some flashlights, met up with a woman and put the flashlights in a bag with other items she had already paid for. The two then left the store without paying for the flashlights. The officer arrested the man and woman for theft.

Burglary — Monday Police received a call reporting a burglary in the 1200 block of W. Taylor Street. The victim said that an unknown suspect entered his house and stole a television.

Death investigation — Police responded to the death of a 60-year-old woman Monday in the 200 block of Archer Drive. Police conducted an investigation and completed a report.

Accident involving damage to vehicle — A victim reported Monday that her car was struck by another car in the 1900 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. The other car fled the scene. Police made a report for accident involving damage to vehicle.

Theft — An officer went Monday to a business in the 1500 block of S. Highway 75 regarding a theft. Over the weekend someone had taken two air conditioning units from behind the business. The victim had surveillance video footage of a white male suspect driving a four door, silver Nissan Frontier pickup with step rails and luggage rack. The officer made a report for theft of materials — copper.

Found property — An officer was dispatched Monday to the 100 block of W. Houston Street regarding a found purse. The purse contained an ID, but the officer was unable to contact the owner. The officer placed the purse into evidence and listed as found property.

Theft — Police received a call Monday regarding a theft at a business in the 800 block of Northcreek Drive. An officer responded and discovered that an unidentified male suspect entered the business, selected several items of clothing and left the store without paying.
