“Tea and Tables Extravaganza” scheduled April 12 with speaker Tabbotha Magee

The Women’s Ministry of Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Sherman will celebrate its 4th Annual “Tea and Tables Extravaganza” this Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 4 -6 p.m. at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom, 220 W. Mulberry St. in Sherman.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Minister Tabbotha McGee, the daughter of Willis and Sammie Johnson of Tyler, Texas. Tabbotha lived in the Red Land community of Ben Wheeler until she was in the second grade. She is an anointed vocalist and her God-given gift to sing was discovered by her grandmother on a fishing trip where she taught Tabbotha to sing her first solo, “Lord Don’t Move The Mountain”.

Tabbotha attended the Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church where she later became the musician for the children’s choir and the Bethlehem C.M.E. Church. At the age of 8 years old Tabbotha and her family moved to Tyler where she attended Ramey Elementary, Boulter Middle School, and John Tyler High School. She attended the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a law degree, but after one year decided to return back to Tyler.

She is currently a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Jacksonville University of Jacksonville, Florida, and is pursuing to be a Nurse Practitioner at Walden University.

On May 23, 1992, she married the love of her life, Broderick McGee, and is the mother of four exceptional children, Tori, Kelton, Shay, and Martevian.

In November, 2005, Tabbotha accepted her call from God to preach the uncompromising Gospel and considers it an honor to be one of God’s chosen vessels and currently serves as Pastor of Worship and Youth Choir Director at the New Life Community Church, under the leadership of Dr. Vernon M. Robertson.

Special Music of Inspiration will be presented by Ms. Haylee Glenn and Tonya Hudson of Arlington, Texas. Also the Greater New Hope Praise Dancers and Mime Ministry will be performing, and the GNH Gospel choir under the direction of Minister Craig Hudson.
