Walter and Linda Brown of Denison celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Aug. 14. Hosts were their sons and daughter-in-law.
The Browns were married on Aug. 23, 1963 at the Chelsea Park Christian Church in Kansas City, Kan. Matron of honor was Cherrill Sprague, sister of Linda Brown, and best man was Albert Brown Jr., brother of Walter Brown.
Linda Brown was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of George and Alberta Baugh. She attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kan., and retired after 20 years of service in the medical field in Sherman. She enjoys crocheting, baking and helping at their church.
Walter Brown was born in Hollywood, Calif., the son of Albert and Irene Brown. He attended Wyandotte High School, graduated from Grayson County College, and retired from Oscar Mayer after 23 years of service. He also worked for Nortex Field Services in Sherman. He enjoys building hot rod cars and, this past year, the couple drove their 1937 Chevrolet across the United States, entering it in car shows.
They attend Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
The Brown’s children are Steve Brown and his wife, Lisa, of Weatherford and Gregory Brown of Sherman. They have five grandchildren.
