DORCHESTER — Boyd and Shirley Dunn of Dorchester will be honored Sunday with a private family gathering celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosts will be the couple’s two sons and daughters-in-law, Darrah Dunn and his wife, Shann Schubert, of Sherman and Barry and Rhonda Dunn of Paris, their niece, Connie Kinser of Belton, and a brother-in-law, Hubert Lowry of Prosper.
The Dunns were married on Feb. 22, 1963 at the First Baptist Church in McKinney by the Rev. Bill Self. Attendants were Shirley Dunn’s sister and Boyd Dunn’s brother.
Shirley Dunn was born in Rhea’s Mill, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Chesney. She attended Prosper High School and is a homemaker.
Boyd Dunn was born in McKinney, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Syke Dunn. He attended Princeton school and McKinney High School, was employed with Kaiser Aluminum and Monitor, and is now semi-retired.
The Dunns have two sons, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They have always actively supported their children and grandchildren, often attending football games, track meets, gymnastics competitions, piano recitals and theatrical events. They are also members of the Dorchester Baptist Church.
