Farley — 50th

Willie N. and Nora Farley of Sherman celebrated their 50th anniversary with a cruise to Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico. An anniversary dinner was held Jan. 15 in the Paris dining room aboard the Carnival cruise ship Triumph. Accompanying the couple were their children, a grandson and several friends.

The Farleys were marred Jan. 15, 1963 in Idabel, Oklahoma by the Rev. Grady Gibson. Attendants were V.D. Mason and Vernon Pipkins, both of Idabel.

Nora Farley was born in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of Matt J. and Ida (Greathouse) Smith of Idabel, Oklahoma. She attended Idabel High School and graduated from Grayson College in 1994. She worked for Texas Instruments in Sherman and Dallas for 31 years, retiring in 2001 as a quality control inspector. She also worked for seven years as a demonstration partner at Sam’s Club in Sherman. She has been a volunteer with the Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ Hospital Auxiliary in Sherman for more than two years. She enjoys playing Bingo.

Willie Farley was born in Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur D. Farley, and attended Shultz Schools in Idabel. He worked for Burlington Industries, Texas Instruments and Johnson & Johnson and is now retired. He enjoys vegetable gardening.

Both enjoy playing cards with friends.

The Farleys’ children are William Farley, Steve Farley and his wife, Sandra and Jeffry Farley, all of Sherman. They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
