Jerry and Judy Hatfield of Denison marked 50 years of marriage on Saturday. A family party was held July 23 at Georgetown Baptist Church for the Hatfields and for David and Rosa Massey who were also celebrating their 50th anniversary. Hosts were Janie and Jim Allen, Kelly and Ken Hurley, Karen and Gary King and Vance and Lindsey Hatfield. The two couples will take a trip to Montana and Canada later this year.
The Hatfields were married Aug. 31, 1963 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Denison. Officiating was the Rev. Carl Vogel. Maid of honor was Janie (Massey) Allen, sister of the bride, and best man was George “Woody” Hatfield, brother of the groom.
Judy Hatfield is a 1961 graduate of Denison High School and is retired after working for many years in real estate.
Jerry Hatfield is a 1960 graduate of Denison High School and continues to work in the insurance field. He also takes part in many civic activities.
Native Denisonians, the Hatfields are members of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where Judy Hatfield is active in the Altar Society. Both enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
The couple’s children are Vance Hatfield and his wife, Lindsey, and the late Gina Hatfield. They have three grandchildren.
