JC and Mary Herron
VAN ALSTYNE — JC and Mary Herron of Van Alstyne celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Saturday. The Herrons were married on Feb. 9, 1948 at the Rockwall courthouse and traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado for their honeymoon.
Mary Herron was born in Van Alstyne, the daughter of Pete and Lillian Davidson. JC Herron was born in Chambersville, the son of Joseph and Ada Herron and he served in the United States Air Force. Both are members of the Church of Jesus Christ.
The Herrons have two daughters and one son — Kathleen Wright of Garland, Charlotte Smith of Plano and Ron Herron of Pottsboro. There are six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
