Holden — 50th


Stanley L. and Roberta Jean “Jeanie” Holden of Denison were honored Feb. 23 with a 50th wedding anniversary luncheon. The celebration was held in the home of the couple’s daughter and son-in-law.

The Holdens were married Feb. 23, 1963 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Parsons, Kansas with Father Lindemann officiating. Attendants were Judy McDowell, Doris Redburn and Judy Wilhite. The best man and groomsmen were Fred Holden, Bill Limes and Leo Walters.

Jeanie Holden was born in Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Powell. She attended Parsons Junior College, Texas Woman’s University and Grayson County College. She worked at the Kansas School for the Deaf and for Sherwin Williams and was last employed as an RN reviewer for TrailBlazer. She holds a PTA life membership, is a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and was a charter member of the TrailBlazing Toastmasters.

Stanley Holden is the son of Ralph and Geraldine Holden. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Dale Carnegie sales training and was employed by the MKT Railroad.

Both are members of the National Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees (NARVRE) and the Red River Rail Museum.

The Holdens have two sons and one daughter — Ralph Ray Holden of Denison, Walter F “Wally” Holden of Alameda, California and Lois Michelle Dodd of Pottsboro. They have six grandchildren.
