Lingo — 50th

Jane and Richard Lingo of Sherman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party of friends and relatives. Hosting the gathering in their Allen home were the couple’s son and daughter-in-law, Brenda and Lisa Lingo.

The Lingos were married on Aug. 10, 1962 in Miami, Oklahoma at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiating was the Rev. Father John Wilson.

Jane Lingo was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Forrest and Rosalie Kleockler of Checotah, Oklahoma. She attended Checotah High School and graduated from Oklahoma State University. She was a teacher in the Sapulpa, Oklahoma public schools, retiring in 1993 after 33 years of service. She enjoys many hobbies including sewing, quilting, reading, painting, and church work.

Richard Lingo was born in Fairland, Oklahoma, the son of Roy and Elizabeth Lingo of Bernice, Oklahoma. He graduated from Cleora High School and attended Miami Junior College and Northeastern State University. He worked in the trucking industry until retiring in 2000. He enjoys church work and attending Sherman Bearcat sports events.

The couple moved to Sherman in 2002. Both attend St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Sherman, and enjoy attending their grandchildren’s activities.

The Lingos’ children are: Brent Lingo and his wife, Lisa, of Allen; Katy Keefover and her husband, Wes, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Sarah Lingo of Sherman. They also have three grandchildren.
