Porter — 50th


John and Glenda Porter of Denison were honored on Nov. 22 with a 50th wedding anniversary reception in their home. Hosts were their children.

The Porters were married on Dec. 29, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Glenda Porter was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leonard and Rhoda Potts. She attended Duncan schools and the University of Oklahoma Nursing School. She was employed at the Texoma Area Agency on Aging and is active in the quilting group at church.

John Porter was born in El Reno, Oklahoma, the son of Edwin and Marie Porter. He attended El Reno schools and Baylor Dental School and worked as a general dentist, practicing in Denison for 36 years before retiring. He is an active member of the Rotary Club.

Both volunteer on a weekly basis delivering meals for Meals on Wheels in Denison.

The Porter’s children are Tracy Romatowski and her husband, Bobby, of San Angelo, Kerri Massenburg and her husband, Bryan, of Denison, and Dallas Porter and his wife, Julie, of Castle Rock, Colorado. There are five grandchildren.
