WHITESBORO — Entertainer Carl Acuff Jr. will be in concert at 7 p.m. March 9 at the Whitesboro Middle School Auditorium. Money raised with the show will be used by the sponsor, Whitesboro Lions Club, to award scholarships to Whitesboro students.
The Carl Acuff Jr. show is billed as a family-oriented variety show for people from the age of 2 to 102. The performance is said to include new country and classic country music, comedy, nostalgic rock n roll, Motown, disco, impersonations, and a salute to veterans.
Acuff marked his 20th year in the music business in 2012. He started his career at Dogpatch USA and performed in some of that area’s most famous theaters before he was 20 years old. In 1992 he put together his own show and two years later he took it on the road. Since that time, the group has traveled more than 1.8 million miles and played before thousands of fans. In 2008, Acuff released his 12th album, entitled “Two Trails,” along with videos on CMT and GAC.
The Whitesboro Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at Don’s Barbecue, 21852 U.S. Hwy. 377.
