Wonderful Life at SCP

Celebrate the holiday season with the classic “It’s A Wonderful Life,” being performed through Dec. 16 by the Sherman Community Players. Performances will be held inside the Finley Theater, 500 North Elm, and will be at 8 p.m. on Dec. 6, Dec. 7, Dec. 8, Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 2, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16.

Listed as one of the best-loved movies in America cinema, It’s a Wonderful Life was released in 1946. It tells the story of George Bailey, a hard-working family man who has given up his own dreams to help others. Stressed to the breaking point, Bailey is seriously considering suicide on Christmas eve until his guardian angel, Clarence Odbody, comes to the rescue.

Bringing George’s poignant story to life on the SCP mainstage will be: Jason Taylor as George Bailey; Madeline Cohn as Mary Bailey; Burl Proctor as Mr. Potter; Jerry Gundersheimer as Clarence; Bruce butler as Uncle Billy; Saundra Linscheid as Violet Peterson; Jared Tredway as Bert; and Paul Jordan as Ernie.
