Video series

The Sherman Public Library will begin its Brown Bag Travel Video Series in January with presentations on Asia and Oceania, part of the “Green Paradise” travel video series. The videos will be shown at noon each Wednesday in the Hope Waller Community Room at the library. There is no fee to attend and participants are encouraged to bring their lunch. Beverages will be provided by the library.

The schedule for January is as follows: Jan. 2, Sri Lanka and Laos; Jan. 9, Oman and Indonesia; Jan. 16, Philippines and French Polynesia; Jan. 23, Palau and New Caledonia; and Jan. 30 Fiji and Seychelles.

CAC classes

BONHAM — Sign-ups are now being held for several classes/programs set to begin at the Creative Arts Center in January. The non-profit center is located at 200 West 5th Street in Bonham.

A junk sculpture class will be held from 10 a.m. until noon every Saturday in January. The class is meant to inspire and assist participants in turning unwanted items into creative objects. The center will provide the basic materials for construction such as hot glue, cold glue, nails, screws, bailing wire and other tools. The cost will be $50.

The Kidz Krew Performing Arts program resumes the second week of January. An additional class for teens will be taught by Lisa Avila on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The Art in the Afternoon class will be from 4 p.m .until 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and will include children of all ages in one class.
