Dr. Seuss celebrated

The students from St. Luke’s Parish Day School celebrated Read Across America day on March 1.Teachers and students chose to honor children’s author, the late Dr. Seuss, who would have been 108 years old on March 2.

Special guests coming in to read Dr. Seuss books to the students were two firefighters, two emergency medical technicians, a police officer, a city clerk and a newspaper writer. Several of the older students in second through fourth grades also read Dr. Seuss books to the younger students. In addition to reading, the students made their own Dr. Seuss hats and other special artwork projects related to Dr. Seuss.

S&S “A” Honor Roll

SADLER — The S&S Middle School and High School have announced the students warning the “A” Honor Roll for the fourth six weeks. They are listed below, by grade.

Sixth grade: Logan Alexander, Amelia Bell, Kenzi Cole, Sarah Garbacik, Shelby Herndon, Jayce Howard, Ezra Jambor, Grace Johnson, Riley Marshall, Taylor Maxwell, Brandy Russell, Adyson Sallaz and Jessica West.

Seventh grade: Abby Alexander, Nicholas Baxley, Natalie Brown, Nicholas Griffin, Hunter Henson, Libbey Hickman, Chazz Maxey, Tyler Morgan, Jada Muller, Lilly Richardson, Kylie Sams, Melanie Steward, Alexis White, Payton White and Leighann Wolfe.

Eighth grade: Trevor Bennett, Ashley Hunter, Jolie Maher, Brittani Mason, Ashley McMillon and Benjamin Wilson.

Senior dance

There will be a senior dance at 7 p.m. this Friday at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom, 405 North Rusk.

Ramblin’ Fever will be providing live music, along with a surprise vocalist.
