Themed “Oh, The Places We’ll Go,” based on Dr. Suess’ book, the St. Mary’s School 13th Annual Casino Night will celebrate the places past and present students have gone and are going to.
The funddraising night has been scheduled for March 2, 5:30 p.m. until midnight, at Austin College’s Sid Richardson gymnasium in Sherman. Attendees, who must be age 21 and older, will be treated to casino-style games, dinner, and live and silent auctions. Auction items this year include the following: a trip to Nashville, Tennessee for the Country Music Awards; four 50-yard-line tickets to a Texas A&M football game; tickets to the Texas Rangers and the Dallas stars; a weekend in Austin for the Austin City Limits Music Festival; a hog hunt; party barn rental; and more packages.
A variety of sponsorship levels, as well as tickets to the event are still available. Information on this can be found at www.stmarys-sch.org/casinonight or by 903-893-2127. Early ticket purchase is encouraged as the event sells out quickly each year.
In the last two years, St. Mary’s School student population has grown by more than 20 percent, with new families from Grayson and Collin Counties and from Oklahoma registering their children at the school. Money raised will allow the school to continue providing the caliber of education it has done since it began in 1877.
