POTTSBORO — Bob and Wanda Wilson of Pottsboro will be honored Sunday, July 15, with a 50th wedding anniversary reception. The celebration will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Georgetown Baptist Church. Hosts will be their daughters and son-in-law.
The Wilsons were married July 13, 1962 in Lubbock at Westmoreland Baptist Church.
Wanda Wilson was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of Hubert and Noma Starnes. She graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech College, and was employed with the Lubbock Independent School District for 20 years. She is a member of the Sherman Quilt Guild and the Busy Bees Quilt Club in Pottsboro.
Bob Wilson was born in Lubbock, the son of Ophelia and Jesse Wilson. He graduated from New Home School and Arlington State College. He has been employed with Woodwork Specialties and the Thrifty Nickel, and operated a Chevron station and U-Haul business in Lubbock.
Both are members of Georgetown Baptist Church, and will be moving from Pottsboro to Princeton next month.
The Wilsons have two daughters, Mandy Wilson Weaver of Princeton and Tonya Ruiz and her husband, Matt, of North Richland Hills. There are two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
