Grayson County commissioners will continue meeting in overdrive this week as they wrestle with the 2013-2014 budget and other matters. Commissioners start their schedule of meetings at 1:30 p.m. Monday and continue in meeting mode throughout the week including their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday held at 10 a.m. at the Grayson County Courthouse.
Monday’s meeting will deal specifically with the new budget.
Tuesday, commissioners will discuss a burn ban for the first time this summer. Rains in the early part of the summer kept this item from becoming a regularly scheduled stable of the commissioners’ agenda the way it has been in years past. However, soaring temperatures and a return to a more normal precipitation pattern for August brought the issue to the Court’s attention.
In addition, commissioners will also consider:
• a request to approve a road bore on Martinek and Westline Roads in Precinct 3;.
• a request to approve a joint election contract with the city of Sherman for November 5, 2013 election;
• a request to discuss a county sponsored health club membership for employees;
• a request to discuss the 2013-2014 tax rate, take a record vote, and authorize appropriate publications.
