Grayson County District Attorney Joe Brown recently released a list of people whose cases were resolved in local district courts. The following names were on that list from the 397th state District Court:
Jason Carpenter, 42, of Prosper, was found guilty by a jury of burglary of a habitation and was sentenced by the judge to 50 years in prison. Carpenter was also found guilty by a jury to a second charge of burglary of a habitation and was sentenced by the judge to 10 years in prison.
Nathan Pierce, 20, of Sherman, pleaded guilty to possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver-methamphetamine and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Pierce also pleaded guilty to possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years in prison. Pierce was also sentenced to five years in prison for failing to comply with the terms of probation previously granted for possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine.
David Phares, 28, 0f Tioga, pleaded guilty to two charges of burglary of a habitation and was sentenced to 10 years in prison on both charges. Phares also pleaded guilty to another charge of burglary of a habitation and was sentenced to nine years in prison and a $250 fine. Phares pleaded guilty to burglary of a building and was sentenced to two years in state jail. Phares pleaded guilty to criminal mischief damage to habitat/animals and was sentenced to two years in state jail. Phares also pleaded guilty to evading arrest with a vehicle and was sentenced to two years in state jail.
Bobby Rushing, 40, of Whitewright, pleaded guilty to five charges of theft of property under $1,500 and was sentenced to six years in prison on all five charges and a $400 fine.
Robert Stanley, 31, of Sherman, pleaded guilty to one charge of possession of marijuana over 50 lbs./under 2,000 lbs. and one charge of driving while intoxicated-3rd or more and was sentenced to five years in prison on both charges.
Tyrone Sommers, 43, of Sherman, pleaded guilty to one charge of tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair and one charge of possession of controlled substance-benzylpiperazine and was sentenced to four years in prison on both charges.
Harley Roberts, 50, of Denison, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for failing to comply with the terms of probation previously granted for prohibitive substance in a correctional facility-methamphetamine.
Raiscalle Young, 40, of Memphis, Tenn., pleaded guilty to abandoning a child and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Jesse Sartin, 40, of Whitewright, pleaded guilty to possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine and was sentenced to 14 months state jail.
William Woods, 31, of Whitewright, pleaded guilty to theft of property under $1,500 with two or more previous convictions and was sentenced to 12 months state jail and a $500 fine.
Daniel Spencer, 51, of Sherman, pleaded guilty to theft of property under $1,500 with two or more previous convictions and was sentenced to 10 months in state jail. Spencer was also sentenced to 10 months state jail for failing to comply with the terms of probation previously granted for theft of property under $1,500 with two or more previous convictions.
Craig Snell, 42, of Palestine, pleaded guilty to possession of controlled substance-methamphetamine and was sentenced to five years in prison, probated for five years, and a $500 fine.
Caleb Rinkenberger, 31, of Melissa, pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud over $1,500/under $20,000 and was sentenced to two years in state jail, probated for five years.
Trina Paddack, 38, of Gainesville, pleaded guilty to theft of property under $1,500 with two or more previous convictions and was sentenced to two years in state jail, probated for 5 years, and a $700 fine.
Jason Summers, 28, of Sherman, pleaded guilty to evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and was sentenced to two years in state jail, probated for three years.
Oscar Vargas, 22, of Denison, pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence and was sentenced to five years deferred adjudicated probation and a $500 fine.
