SOUTHMAYD — The Southmayd City Council will canvass the city elections and discuss several items of “new business” during a special meeting Tuesday, May 22, at 7 p.m. in Southmayd City Hall, located at the corner of McElroy Street and Elementary Drive.
Among the new business will be discussion of forming an interlocal agreement with Grayson County for patching city streets. The council will also consider a resolution that would deny the Mid-Tex Division of Atmos Energy Corporation’s statement of intent to change the gas utility rates. The council will also discuss hiring a new public works employee and ideas for the 2012-2013 budget.
During old business, the council will discuss selling water rights from the Greater Texoma Utility Authority. The council will also receive reports from the fire department, police department, planning and zoning board and public works department. Councilors will also receive the code enforcement report and financial report.
