Officers with the Sherman Police Department arrested a man and a woman for aggravated robbery and several narcotic charges Saturday after responding to a shooting call.
SPD dispatch received the call of a shooting in the 1200 block of South Travis Street at 9:47 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, officers located the female suspect inside a residence and the male suspect leaving the scene in a vehicle.
The suspects had planned to rob another individual. However, when the male suspect pointed a gun at the victim, the individual grabbed the gun and pushed it away as the male suspect fired. The bullet struck a wall above the victim and the two fought for a short time before the victim was able to run outside.
Police said the male suspect fired at the victim again while he was running away, but did not hit him. The victim received only minor injuries during the fight and no one was shot during the incident.
