SHERMAN — The Hungry for More of Jesus Bible Study group will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting room at Grandy’s Restaurant in Sherman. Minister Colleen Nichols of Sherman will be conducting this month’s study. Her topic will be “The Cross.”
Colleen Nichols was born in Vancouver British Columbia and married Darrell Nichols of Scott’s Bluff, Neb. Now recently widowed, Mrs. Nichols is dedicating her life to the “Great Commission” of Christ. She grew up Catholic and became a born-again Christian in 1984 after reading through Hal Lindsey’s “Late Great Planet Earth.”
Since then, she has been actively working in ministry. She started out cleaning the church, serving as a greeter, and working with the inner-city ministry in Tucson, Ariz. for four years. She taught Sunday School for 24 years, and now serves as an evangelist, teaching and preaching God’s word. She has also led Bible studies in her home for 15 years.
She completed three years of Bible College in Lubbock through West Texas Assembly of God Bible Institute and received her ministerial certificates through the Berean School of the Bible. She is now a chaplain with the Chaplains for Women International.
Linda Pease and Nelda Barker, both of Sherman will provide the music selections.
This Hungry for More study was founded by Minister Norma Milton in 1974. She is assisted by Ministers Effie Bowden, Pat Elliott and Sherman Haggard, pastor.
The public is invited to come and explore God’s word with them.
