The guard tandem of Jayzhia Softly and Sa’Liesha Hunter combined for 45 points on Tuesday night as Sherman’s girls snapped a three-game losing streak with a 58-39 win over Wylie in a District 13-4A game at Bearcat Gymnasium.
Softly finished with 23 points and Hunter was close behind with 22 as the Lady Bearcats (15-9, 4-2) outscored Wylie in every quarter. Ashley Crockett added eight points.
Taylor Jordan was the only player in double figures with 12 points for the Lady Pirates (6-17, 3-3).
The Lady Cats will close out the first half of district action on Friday night at Greenville.
Melissa 67, Community 25
MELISSA — Katie Webb had 31 points, 11 rebounds and six assists as Melissa opened district play with a victory against Community.
Whitney Taylor scored 20 points while Keonni Conkle chipped in eight points for Melissa (13-9, 1-0), which plays at Bonham on Friday night.
Howe 72, C’burg 27
HOWE — Riley Harvey had 15 points and four rebounds as Howe defeated Callisburg.
Erin Taylor scored 14 points, Morgan Bailey finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Aurian James chipped in five points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals for Howe (18-5, 6-0), which plays at Bells on Friday.
Kalli Byrom scored 14 points and Amberly Colwell added seven points for Callisburg, which slipped behind Pottsboro into third place.
P’boro 47, Bells 42
POTTSBORO — Macie O’Hanlon scored 15 points as Pottsboro held off Bells.
Casey Evans added 11 points while Justus Malone chipped in six points and five steals and Lindsey Davis grabbed seven rebounds for Pottsboro (15-7, 5-1), which plays at Tom Bean on Friday night.
Katie Shults scored 13 points, Carlee Shelby had 11 points and Emily Fagan finished with eight points for Bells.
S&S 63, Tom Bean 61, OT
SADLER — Brittany Lancaster had 24 points and 16 rebounds as S&S edged Tom Bean.
Britney Williams added 22 points while Brooke Rankin and Chelsea Bird each finished with seven points for S&S (7-11, 1-5), which plays at Whitesboro on Friday.
Katie Jones had 20 points and six reboounds, Sarah Henderson finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds and Alex Hendry chipped in 8 points and 12 rebounds for Tom Bean.

WHITEWRIGHT — Anna Shope had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four steals as Whitewright defeated Whitesboro.
Sydney Brummett finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals while Holly Hughes, Cassie Neel, and Tucker Caraway all contributed seven points each for Whitewright.

PILOT POINT — Jaimie Hughes had 16 points, five rebounds and four steals as the Lady Tigers remained perfect in district play.
Mackenzie Mazerolle scored 12 points, Regan Hestand added nine points, five rebounds and 10 assists and Rachel Campbell scored nine points for Gunter (16-8, 5-0), which travels to Sunnyvale in a battle of first-place teams.

IVANHOE — Cassidy Hall had 26 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals as Sam Rayburn defeated Celeste.
Torri Pannell added 10 points, five assists and three steals, Sarah Foreman scored nine points and Jaiden Pelton chipped in seven points, four assists and three steals for Sam Rayburn (21-5, 7-0), which starts the second half of district at Wolfe City on Tuesday.
Haley Trentham scored 17 points to lead Celeste (20-3, 4-2).

SAVOY — Brittney Crowell scored 21 points as Ector defeated Savoy.
Tiffany Sellers added seven points and Cristi Abbott finished with six points for Ector, which hosts Dodd City on Tuesday night.
Emily Cornell had 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals, Jerica Isom scored seven points and Lindsey Stone chipped in five points and six rebounds for Savoy.

DODD CITY — Briann Hilliard had 15 points and Keeshia Thompson scored 12 as Dodd City defeated Fannindel.
Stephanie Wolter chipped in seven points and Lauren Hilliard had six points for Dodd City (19-4, 2-0), which plays at Ector on Tuesday.
