Softball Roundup — Whitesboro beats Howe

WHITESBORO — Katie Dean struck out 13, allowed two hits and drove in two runs as Whitesboro defeated Howe, 5-1, in District 11-2A action on Tuesday afternoon.

Alexus Vanlandingham was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Taren Dillon chipped in two hits, including a double, for Whitesboro, which broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning.

The Lady Bearcats (15-4, 5-0) will play a non-district game at Celina at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Whitewright 15, Tom Bean 0 (4)

TOM BEAN — Madi Williams and Anna Shope each drove in four runs as Whitewright run-ruled Tom Bean in district action on Tuesday afternoon.

Shope’s production included a homer while Tucker Caraway was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and allowed just one hit to go with six strikeouts and Keely Selman and Sierra Cate drove in runs for Whitewright (16-2, 5-0).

S&S 10, Pottsboro 6

SADLER — Savannah Medrano had two hits, three runs and two RBI as S&S defeated Pottsboro in district action on Tuesday.

Paige Porter doubled and drove in three runs, Charlene Hudson chipped in three hits, Jordan Curry doubled and had two RBI and Ashlei Ferguson finished with two hits for S&S.

District 12-2A

Pilot Point 5, Caddo Mills 2

CADDO MILLS — Skylar Cagle pitched a three-hitter, leading Pilot Point to a district win over Caddo Mills.

Cagle, Kalyn Salsman and Haley Evans had doubles for three of the Lady Cats’ five hits.

Pilot Point will play in the San Marcos tournament this weekend.

Non-district

Bonham 17, Lindsay 7

LINDSAY — Arye Durst homered twice and Audrey Richardson also homered and doubled as Bonham defeated Lindsay in non-district play.

Cheyenne Wicker also homered for Bonham, joining Durst and Richardson with three hits.
