Grayson offense erupts in 2 wins


PARIS — Grayson College’s bats erupted for 35 runs in two games on Saturday as the Vikings beat Cowley County (Kan.), 16-7, and Paris Junior College, 19-4, on Saturday.

Austin Krajnak batted 4-for-5 with a walk, four RBI and four runs scored, and Willie Schwanke was 4-for-7 with two doubles and four RBI in the win against Cowley County. Matt McLean was 3-for-6 and Landon Wilson got the win, allowing three hits in five innings.

In the nightcap against Paris, the Vikings scored 11 runs in the third as everyone in the lineup scored a run and had an RBI to break the game open.

Chris Gittens was 4-for-6 with four RBI and Krajnak was 4-for-7 for the Vikings, and Schwanke added a 3-for-6 game with three RBI while Luke Hamblin also batted 3-for-6.

Grayson (6-3) travels to Northeast Texas College in Mount Pleasant for a single game on Monday.
