SOSU men’s hoops adds four for 2014-15


DURANT — Southeastern men’s basketball coach Kelly Green has announced the addition of four signees for the 2014-15 season, welcoming Sami Bzai, Antonio Ferreira, Nathan Jackson and Joseph Aikens to the squad.

Three of the new additions, Bzai, Ferreira and Jackson, transfer to SOSU from the junior college ranks, while Aikens enters as a true freshman.

Ferreira, a guard/forward combo who will be a sophomore for the Storm, makes the longest trip to Southeastern by way of Massasoit CC in Boston, Mass., where he averaged 16.6 ppg last season and 7.6 rebounds.

Bzai, a guard, played at Mesa CC in Mesa, Ariz. There he averaged 10.4 ppg last season with 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assist per outing.

Jackson, a guard who will play on the wings, is a Wichita, Kan., native who will be making the move from Hutchinson CC. There he averaged 9.9 ppg with 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest.

Aikens, a guard from Jacksonville, Ark., played ball for North Pulaski HS. He has his senior season cut short due to injury but managed to average 12 ppg to go with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals per contest.
